Are There Advantages to Weekend Blogging?
I recently read a post by Lynn Litte at SeoDance.com regarding Blogging on the Weekend. According to Lynn, blogging on the weekend does offer some advantages. She found that she not only got better traffic, but also received more comments on her weekend posts!
While I generally take the weekend off myself, I have been wanting to test out weekend posting just to see what the results are. After reading Lynn’s post, I think I will definitely try at least one soon! If you really don’t feel like writing on the weekend, Lynn suggests editing your timestamp such that you can write the post during the week and only have it appear on the weekend.
Is writing on the weekend going to help you? It depends the type of blog you are writing and if people are searching for your type of content on the weekend. For 451press blogs or others writing for network, weekend writing will definitely boost your traffic in my opinion. Why is that? Take a look at the right hand side of this site. In the menu you will notice there are links to “Hot off the Press” and “Latest Channel Posts”. Since most people do in fact take the weekend off, posting on the weekend means more of your links will show up for longer times in these menus!
Should you write the same way on the weekend as you do during the week? Well, I haven’t been blogging on the weekend so who cares what I think about that. Instead, take some advice from Darren Rowse who is a very successful blogger. Here is a link to Darrens Weekend Blog Strategy.
